PK Krakow University of Technology and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education as co-organisers of the International Deep Tech Summit 2026 Conference.

PK Krakow University of Technology, together with the Minister of Science and Higher Education and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, organised an event to strengthen the potential, recognition, and globalisation of Polish science in commercialising deep tech technologies from Polish universities. The event took place on October 27 in Warsaw, as a thematic track titled “Deep Tech From Science” at the international Deep Tech Summit 2026 conference. The main organiser of this cyclical conference is the Polish Innovative Foundation, operating under the leadership of Sławomir Olejnik and Paweł Ząbek.
The event included 3 expert panels on future technologies:
- “From lab to global market: what will it take for Poland to scale MedTech and Biotech?”
Moderator: Dagmara Słota, PhD, Eng. / Faculty of Materials Engineering and Physics
Panelists:
Izabela Najda-Jędrzejewska – Ministry of Science and Higher Education
Tomasz Ciach – Warsaw University of Technology
Maciej Gołaszewski – BioCloner Health Poland
Karolina Jarosińska – ExecMind
Maciej Wieloch – IIF.vc
Topic: What Poland needs to improve in the MedTech and biotechnology ecosystem – from university research and intellectual property, through clinical validation, regulatory approvals, investments, to international expansion, to transform breakthrough scientific discoveries into globally competitive companies.
- “Quantum Revolution?”
Moderator: Michał Bereta, DSc, Eng., Prof. PK KUT / Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics
Panelists:
Grzegorz Dobrowolski – Cisco
Michał Drogosz – Empiriqa
Aldona Mzyk – Heriot-Watt University

Jacek Murawski – Orlen VC
Rafał Ślefarski – Poznan University of Technology
Topic: The role of green hydrogen, circular economy strategies, integrated energy systems, and advanced technological innovations in accelerating industrial decarbonisation. How cutting-edge technologies can transform sustainable fuels, biofuels, and resource utilisation, while shortening the path from research to market and supporting the development of resilient, net-zero industrial value chains.
Additionally, 5 startups originating from Polish universities presented themselves on a stage specially dedicated to Polish science:
- FlexAndRobust Systems sp. z o.o. / Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transport, PK Krakow University of Technology, Konrad Kwiecień CTO
- Empiriqa sp. z o.o. / Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Michał Drogosz CEO

- Vaxican sp. z o.o. / University of Gdańsk, Mateusz Sagan CGO
- Smarter Diagnostics sp. z o.o. / University of Warsaw, Bartosz Borucki CEO
Participants had the opportunity to learn about the offerings of Polish science at a stand specially prepared by PK Krakow University of Technology, titled “Deep Tech. Polish Science. Global Opportunities.”, and took part in an open networking meeting.
Among the over 750 conference participants were numerous representatives from the scientific community, startup founders, investors and business angels, representatives of ministries, government agencies, and Polish and European institutions supporting technology transfer and knowledge commercialisation.
The Ministry of Science and Higher Education was represented by Izabela Najda-Jędrzejewska, Deputy Director of the Department of Innovation and Development. PK Krakow University of Technology was represented by Izabela Paluch, President of the Management Board of the special purpose vehicle INTECH PK, which was a Supporting Partner of the conference.
Deep Tech Summit 2026 was an excellent opportunity for INTECH PK brokers Kamila Stańczyk and Krzysztof Oleksy to popularize the MNISW program “Science for Business,” present the offerings of PK KUT and its spin-offs: Ortigal, Prodmot, NewPrompt, Photo4Chem, BCPower, FlexAndRobust Systems, and build relationships among scientists, startups, investment funds, and business partners.
