We are grounded in rich university traditions, such as: the pursuit of truth, respect for knowledge and skills, integrity in their dissemination and promotion, openness to new ideas, respect for personal dignity and human civil rights, as well as respect for academic freedoms.
A shared vision for the future
By Resolution of the Senate of PK Krakow University of Technology No. 77/o/12/2025 of December 17, 2025, the university adopted the Development Strategy of PK Krakow University of Technology for the years 2026-2031. This is the culmination of many months of work, analyses, and a broad consultation process in which the academic community of the University was engaged.
Work on the Strategy was led by a team chaired by Przemysław Wewiór, PhD. For many months, its members analysed the most important challenges and needs of the university, as well as the directions in which PK should develop. In parallel, the topic of the university’s future was the subject of meetings between the rector and the communities of individual PK KUT units.
An important element of the work on the document was consultation and review of the draft. Every employee of PK Krakow University of Technology could submit their comments and proposed changes.
PK Krakow University of Technology is among the strongest national research universities; it is here that ideas, technologies, and talents shaping the future are born. It is a modern technical university, strongly internationalised, dynamically cooperating with the socio-economic environment in the region and the country, offering the highest quality of education and friendly working and development conditions for the entire academic community.

A Green Plan for the University
PK Krakow University of Technology has been implementing the concept of the so-called “Green Plan for PK KUT” for several years. It concerns, among other things, revitalisation and pro-ecological actions on the grounds of all university campuses – at Warszawska Street, at Podchorążych Street, and the Czyżyny campus in Kraków.
In Łobzów, at Podchorążych Street, we plan, together with the Municipality of Kraków, to create a publicly accessible park-garden on land owned by the university, referring to the historical identity of Łobzów and its royal gardens. The university offered to make its land available for the park, conducted and financed an architectural competition for its concept along with the preparation of the required documentation. A directional resolution in this matter, recommending to the mayor of the city further actions for the creation of a park in Łobzów, was adopted in February 2024 by the Kraków City Council.
Solutions undertaken by the university in the center of Kraków at Warszawska Street are intended to serve the implementation of the idea of “PK KUT Eco-Campus,” and concern, among other things, rainwater retention, new forms of greenery (flowering meadows, soil garden, green zones for students, green roofs), modernisation of lighting, increasing the number of bicycle shelters, monitoring concerning carbon footprint and air quality, energy consumption and increasing the acquisition of so-called green energy, etc.
Politechnika 2100 is a long-term development concept for the PK KUT campus in Czyżyny – in a perspective of 20, 50, and even 100 years. Its premise is to reconcile the development of the university with the preservation of the green and unique character of Czyżyny. The campus is to simultaneously provide a place for modern teaching, laboratories, and research, and remain an open, green space for students, employees, and residents of Kraków. The concept is based on a precisely recognized, real historical and natural value of this space.
Sustainable Development Strategy for the Campuses of PK Krakow University of Technology for the years 2026-2031
The document is a response to contemporary climate challenges and focuses on four pillars: environmental protection, support for the academic community, innovative scientific research, and modern education. Operational actions include, among other things, abandonment of the use of chemical plant protection products, abandonment of combustion devices for maintenance, monitoring of carbon footprint and air quality, and sustainable management of green waste.

PK Krakow University of Technology Apiary
An urban apiary operates on the PK Krakow University of Technology campus at 24 Warszawska Street. Approximately 120,000 bees of the Krainka species live in three hives, which is characterized by gentleness and the ability to adapt quickly to the environment. They are therefore perfectly suited to life in an urban environment. The apiary is surrounded by a flowering meadow and trees, and wooden hives provide the bees with better air exchange and ventilation. Our bees support local biodiversity, while at the same time becoming part of university research.
The honey produced in the apiary is analysed by scientists from the accredited PK KUT Trace Analysis Laborator, among other things, for the content of dioxins and PCBs. Determination of dioxins in honey can be a good indicator of air quality in the area. Thanks to this, the apiary is not only a place friendly to pollinators, but also an example of how the campus can be a space combining care for the environment with science and practical application of knowledge.
The University Apiary is cared for by Miasto Pszczół.

Not only science
Cultural and artistic life has been an important part of PK Krakow University of Technology for years. Music ensembles operate at the university, concerts and exhibitions are organized. We proceed from the assumption that education is more than acquiring knowledge. Art and music allow the development of imagination, sensitivity, and the ability to look at the world from different perspectives. These competencies are as important for an engineer as technical skills.
Among the students and graduates of PK Krakow University of Technology there have been many recognized creators, including Marek Grechuta, Sebastian Karpiel-Bułecka, Sławomir Mrożek, Andrzej Mleczko, and Zdzisław Beksiński.

#Letsmeet
To begin with, a few facts. Currently, 11,518 students study at PK Krakow University of Technology – including 456 persons from abroad. Employees also constitute a considerable group. The university employs 1,999 persons, and 58 percent of this number are research and teaching staff.
In such a large community, there is no possibility of getting to know everyone personally. We simply pass most people every day on the campuses. Meanwhile, the CUT community is made up of extraordinary people, often possessing interesting passions. Let us get to know each other!

Together we can do more
PK Krakow University of Technology is not only a place of learning, research, and work. It is above all a community that can act together also when help is needed. #PKKUThelps are actions, fundraisers, and charitable initiatives in which students, employees, and organisations operating at our university are engaged. From large nationwide finales to small, local gestures.
Because knowledge and technology matter when they serve people.
The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity at CUT

PK Krakow University of Technology has been actively involved in organising the Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity for three years. On the campus, under number 3335, the WOŚP Kraków Headquarters is registered. Our community participates in the action not only as volunteers, but also prepares auctions for fundraising supporting the Orchestra.
In 2026, one could bid on a trip to Ojców in the vintage car of Rector Andrzej Szarata with him as the driver, a walk on the construction site of the Kazimierz-Ludwinów pedestrian and bicycle footbridge, and a ride in a tram simulator in the role of a tram driver.

See how we help
Wampiriada
“Wampiriada” is a cyclical project of the Independent Students’ Association, which promotes selfless helping of other people through blood donation. The first action at PK KUT took place in 2000. Its originator and organiser was Przemysław Miłoń, then chairman of NZS PK KUT.

St. Nicholas Day
The action “St. Nicholas Day – Students for Children” was created on December 2, 1987. It began with organising St. Nicholas Day for the children of students and employees from the dormitory. Over time, the action expanded and evolved; students of PK Krakow University of Technology began to give presents to children from orphanages and care and educational institutions.

A Hair Away from Help
A charity hair donation drive for wigs for children with oncological diseases, organised by the Student Government of PK Krakow University of Technology. This is a day when our university transforms into a hair salon. Anyone who wishes to change their look and do something good for children struggling with illness and alopecia areata can participate in the event.
