at&nbsp;PK&nbsp;KUT<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">An&nbsp;Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is&nbsp;a&nbsp;highly specialized, reliable, computerized device that uses voice prompts to&nbsp;guide the person providing first aid through the procedure of&nbsp;safely defibrillating a&nbsp;victim with cardiac arrest. An&nbsp;AED can be&nbsp;used by&nbsp;anyone who witnesses an&nbsp;event requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation (70% of&nbsp;cardiac arrest cases in&nbsp;adults result from myocardial infarction). The simple operation of&nbsp;an&nbsp;AED means that even persons outside medical personnel can use it&nbsp;to&nbsp;save lives. The defibrillator combines digital signal transmission technology and advanced ECG analysis algorithms, so&nbsp;it&nbsp;first performs an&nbsp;analysis of&nbsp;the heart&#8217;s&nbsp;function and then\u2014if&nbsp;necessary\u2014generates a&nbsp;so-called defibrillation impulse that saves lives. This ensures that applying an&nbsp;electric shock to&nbsp;an&nbsp;unconscious person is&nbsp;the correct action. An&nbsp;electrical impulse with an&nbsp;energy of&nbsp;approximately 250J, passing between electrodes attached to&nbsp;the victim&#8217;s&nbsp;body, is&nbsp;intended to&nbsp;stimulate the heart muscle to&nbsp;resume function. Statistics show that cardiopulmonary resuscitation combined with defibrillation within 3\u20135 minutes of&nbsp;loss of&nbsp;consciousness can allow for successful resuscitation in&nbsp;49\u201375% of&nbsp;cases, and each minute of&nbsp;delay in&nbsp;defibrillation reduces the probability of&nbsp;survival by&nbsp;10\u201312%.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Jak zastosowa\u0107 defibrylator\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OF72AD9VAxM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Operating the device is&nbsp;simple enough that basic knowledge can be&nbsp;acquired by&nbsp;reviewing the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pk.edu.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/AED_instrukcja.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">graphical user instructions<\/a><\/strong> or&nbsp;watching a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OF72AD9VAxM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">demonstration video<\/a><\/strong>. Additionally, PK&nbsp;KUT employees undergo defibrillator operation training during initial occupational health and safety training in&nbsp;the section devoted to&nbsp;the principles of&nbsp;providing
